Rähinäremmi is the New Black

Rähinäremmi (=brawl strap) is Finnish military slang for a belt that used to be worn by officers of the Finnish defence forces.  This Sam Browne belt was originally developed to support a sword and later a pistol. Nowadays it is mostly used for ceremonial purposes only.

The pattern of her dress is also used in day covers of beds in Finnish garrisons. The dark blue cover needs to be properly folded following strict rules into pinkka (=stack) before going to bed.
